Parking Department Response to COVID-19

Effective Monday, May 18, all university-owned parking lots and garages will be open to faculty and staff who have an active permit, including shuttle permits. All university-owned metered spaces will require payment during designated hours. All faculty/staff permits have remained active through the suspension of payroll deduction.  

We will also continue to provide motorist assistance services, such as lockouts and jumpstarts. 

To coincide with Governor Pritzker’s extension of the stay-at-home order, through May 30, we will temporarily suspend parking payroll deductions. As a result, there will be no parking payroll deductions for BW10 (paid on May 13), MN5 (paid on May 15), BW11 (paid on May 27), and BW12 (paid on June 10). All permits will remain active and waitlist positions will not be affected.

We understand some of you paid for your permit in full and we are still in the process of discussing refund options. One option is providing a credit toward your FY21 permit. Naturally the credit/refund would be dependent on what transpires over the next two months and would be determined at the end of June.
